Daniel Bocolo , 73, of Mountaintop, died Sunday at his home. Born June 10, 1922, in Pittston, he was the son of the late Frank and Eleanora Cirelli Bocolo.
A graduate of Pittston High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater.
A resident of Mountaintop for more than 32 years, he was employed as a medical illustrator and public relations coordinator for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountaintop.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Gill; a daughter, Mary Kay Kachel, Mountaintop; two grandchildren; sisters, Janet Simonetti, Exeter; Vera Horvatt, Philadelphia; brothers, Ernest, Philadelphia; Thomas, West Wyoming; Joseph, Pittston.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Jude's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph's Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, 18509, or to the American Heart Association, 71 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, 18701.
