Mrs. Byrne was born in Inkerman, Pa., the daughter of the late Timothy and Mary Kane Ford. She spent the greater part of her married life in Rummerfield, her husband being the Lehigh Valley station agent there for years. Mrs. Byrne was highly regarded in her home community and will be greatly missed there.
Mrs. Byrne was a woman of a quiet and unassuming nature and was never more content than when about her home. Although her health had been failing for years she never complained and when the seriousness of her condition became known it was a shock to all who knew her.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Byrne is survived by a son, William J., of Rummerfield; a nephew, George M. Burke, recently discharged from the Navy; a brother, John Ford of Philadelphia; four sisters, Mrs. Edwin DeFay of Philadelphia, Mrs. Arthur DeFay of Lansing, Mich., Mrs. Delia Tyson of Philadelphia and Mrs. John Eckmeyer of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the home in Rummerfield Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock and at SS. Peter and Paul Church here at 10 o'clock, Mrs. Byrne having been a member of that church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Interment will be in the SS. Peter and Paul cemetery, North Towanda.
