Ann K. Gill, 95, of Wilkes-Barre Twp., passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, following a brief illness.
Born Nov. 4, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Bridget and Edward Button.
Ann was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Class of 1940, and was a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, Wilkes-Barre.
Before her retirement in 1991, she worked in the attendance office at Wilke-Barre Twp. Junior High School.
Ann loved life to the very end. She was dedicated to her faith with daily Mass and the Rosary. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and forever boasted of their many significant accomplishments.
She loved watching any type of sports team, especially Notre Dame.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John J., in 1981; daughter, Mary Ann Blazick, in 1995; sister, Mary Temprine, in 1984; and brother, Michael Lyons, in 1976.
Ann will be greatly missed by her seven children, Jack, Ashley; Tom and his wife, Alice, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; Kathy Wolf and her husband, George, Egg Harbor Twp., N.J.; Ed and his companion, Mary, Wilkes-Barre; Robert (Bones) and his wife, Denise, Wilkes-Barre; Jim, at home and with whom she resided; Maureen Jesikiewicz and her husband, Jim (Jes), Mountain Top; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ann's life will begin with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McLaughlin's, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, and continue there on Wednesday with gathering at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Church of the Parish of Our Lady of Hope.
