In December, 1942 Uncle John was on a ship, the Chenango, that was headed to the Pacific and he was at the Panama Canal. Dad arrived at the Panama Canal to pick up a ship that was coming from the West Coast. They were both surprised, to put it mildly, to see each other and they were able to spend Christmas of 1942 together. |
