Thomas Gill (aged 22), bachelor, farmer, of Tonranny, son of Peter Gill, farmer, married 10th June 1878 in Moyna church, Catherine Kelly (aged 24), spinster, of Ballinteva (civil parish of Kilmaclasser) daughter of William Kelly, a farmer (witnesses: James Waters and Bridget M. Loftus).

The death of Mrs. Katherine Gill, widow of the late Thomas Gill of Hollenback avenue, occurred at the home yesterday morning caused by a paralytic stroke suffered a week ago. Deceased was about 55 years of age and resided here many years. She is survived by the following children: Winifred, Bridget, Peter and Mrs. Michael Gannon all of Parsons.

Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Catherine Gill were held yesterday morning with a requiem high mass in St. Dominic’s church at 9:30. Rev. J.J. Puddy officiated. Rev. Father Coxe of Scranton was deacon and Rev. Father Golden of Nanticoke was sub-deacon. There was a profusion of floral offerings, showing the esteem in which the deceased was held. The pall bearers were Michael, Edward, William, Peter, Edward and James Kelley, all cousins of the deceased. Interment was in St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Plains.
