Mr. Joyce was a life-long resident at the North Main Street address, his birthplace. For many years he was associated with his late brother, Senator Joyce, in conducting the Howell and King Brewery in Pittston.
Mr. Joyce served two terms as treasurer of Pittston City some years ago. He retired from the brewery business and politics a number of years ago. He was a member of St. Mary’s Pittston, and its Holy Name Society.
Surviving are two nieces, Frances Joyce, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Mary Patricia Gill, wife of Attorney Thomas Gill of Wilkes-Barre.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 from the funeral home 802 Susquehanna Avenue, west Pittston, with a requiem mass at 9:30 in St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
