Michael Kane (1854-1913)

MINER’S MILLS

Death claimed Michael J. Kane, a highly respected resident of this place at 11:30 Thursday evening after a three weeks’ illness of pneumonia. The deceased had charge of the Miner’s Mills district for the Prudential Life Insurance company for several years and while acting in that capacity made many friends,

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Peter, Walter, Raymond, Alice, Marie and Rose; also the following brothers and sisters: Edward Kane and Mrs. Mary Ford of Inkerman, and Mrs. Hencliff of Pittston.

The funeral will be held Monday morning from his late home on East Thomas street at 9 o’clock. A high mass of requiem will be celebrated in St. Dominic’s Church at 9:30 and interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains.

MINER’S MILLS

A large gathering of relatives and friends were in attendance at the funeral of Michael J. Kane, which was held yesterday morning at 9 o’clock. A high mass of requiem was celebrated in St. Dominic’s Church at 9:30 by Rev. Father Moffitt. The flower carriers were Thomas McNamara and Michael Delaney. The pall bearers were James Mayock, Michael McHale, Thomas Haughney, William Soffey, James Toole and John Kinney. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Plains.

Mrs. M. J. Kane wishes to thank all who so kindly assisted her during her recent bereavement.
