DEATH AND INJURY

WELL KNOWN INKERMAN MAN
MEETS DEATH IN NO. 14 TUNNEL

Timothy Ford, a well know resident of Inkerman, was instantly killed yesterday in No. 14 tunnel of the Pennsylvania Coal Co. Mr. Ford was a miner and had been assisting in putting on a derailed car and stepped out on the slope, when a trip of cars broke loose and struck him, death being almost instantaneous.

The deceased was aged about 44 years and is survived by his wife and seven daughters – Nellie, Mildred, Sarah, Mary, Rose, Delia and Anna. Mr. Ford was a son of Patrick Ford of that place. His parents survive, also one brother, Michael Ford, and one sister, Mrs. Thomas Gorman, all of Inkerman.

In former years the deceased held the office of assessor in Jenkins Township for a couple of terms. His untimely death has caused general sorrow in that neighborhood.
