She was born in Pittston, daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn Baumiester Kane. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph. She was educated in Pittston public schools and was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1950.
Marion enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City, the Poconos and the Crossings. For many years, she was a member of the Card Club. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who will be deeply missed.
Also surviving are a son, Robert G. Bird, Scranton; two daughters, Jeannie B. Johansen, Pen Argyl; Jennifer Scanlan, Blandon; six grandchildren, Steven and Brian Johansen, Robert J. and Kristen Bird, and Blane and FaithAnn Scanlan; and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by sister, Lois Kane O'Malley.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 from Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 10:30 in the Church of St. Joseph, to be celebrated by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Minooka. Friends may call Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
