Edward Hinchcliffe (1889-1969)

The death of Edward A. Hinchcliff, Lake Carey, Tunkhannock RD, occurred yesterday at the Summit Nursing Home, Tunkhannock, following an illness.

He was born in Pittston March 11, 1889, and was a veteran of World War 1, having served overseas. He was a retired Pennsylvania Coal Company employee and served as justice of the peace in Lemon Township, Wyoming County. A member of the Church of the Nativity, Tunkhannock, he was affiliated with Dennis Strong Post, American Legion, Tunkhannock.

His wife, Margaret Jane Yates, preceded him in death.

Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Warren Williams, Wyoming; Mrs. William Eggleston, Tunkhannock; Mrs. Warren Singer, Springville; Mrs. Raymond Brown, Center Moreland; son, Ellerslie Larish, West Wyoming, and a sister, Mrs. Mattie Burns, New York City.

Funeral will be from Church of the Nativity Monday at 10, with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 73 West Tioga Street, Tunkhannock, Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 Sunday.
