Her husband of 56 years, the late Edward A. Heffren, died Feb. 14, 2006. Mary Lucille was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Pittston, one of three children, including Joseph M. Swift and Anne Swift Kerbe, born to the late Joseph M. Swift and Frances Reddington Swift.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School and St. John's Academy Business School. Prior to her marriage, she worked for Barber Ford Motor Co.
She was retired from the U.S. government. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish Community, Pittston.
Mary Lucille loved the theatre and especially loved traveling to Weston, Vt., to attend plays offered by the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company. She was an avid Notre Dame and New York Giants football fan.
Mary Lucille is survived by son, Edward J. Heffren, and a daughter, attorney Maureen F. Heffren. Mary Lucille also has numerous cousins, including first cousins of the Reddington family, Jeanne Tigue Hughes and Jim McHale; nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family from Ruane & Regan Funeral Home, 18 Kennedy St., Pittston.
Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
