George Heffren (1924-1960)

GEORGE HEFFREN

George Heffren, 120 Stites Avenue, West Wyoming, died in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital yesterday afternoon at 2.

Mr. Heffren was born in Pittston, son of the late Michael and Alice Hinchcliffe Heffren. He spent his youth in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre and was graduated from James M. Coughlin High School in 1941. For 18 years, he worked as a mailer at International Color Printing Company. During World War 2, he served for four years in the Medical Corps.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ann Marie Dessoye; a daughter, Geri Ann; brothers, Joseph and Edward, Pittston; a sister, Mrs. Robert Howe, Wilkes-Barre.

He was a member of Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming, and its Holy Name Society and American Legion, Miners Mills.

The funeral will be held from funeral home, 575 North Main Street, Pittston, Monday at 9 with requiem mass at 9:30 in Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday after 7.
