Gertrude Hinchcliff

Miss Gertrude Hinchcliff, 479 Main Street, Sebastopol, Jenkins Township, died yesterday morning at her home following a long illness.

Miss Hinchcliff was born in Jenkins Township, a daughter of the late Isaac and Sarah Hinchcliff, early settlers of the township. She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston; East Stroudsburg State Teachers' College and Marywood College.

For the last 12 years Miss Hinchcliff taught in Hughestown Borough schools and was on a leave of absence due to ill health. A communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston, she was also a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and Marywood College Alumnae Association.

Surviving are a brother, Edward, Lake Carey and four sisters, Misses Bertha and Blanche, both at home; Mrs.Mattie Burns, Brooklyn, N. Y., and Mrs. Alice Heffren, Wilkes-Barre.

Funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 from the funeral home 802 Susquehanna Avenue, West Pittston, with requiem mass at 10 in St. John's Church. Interment in parish cemetery.
