Friends were deeply grieved today to learn of the death at 11 o'clock last night of Miss Mary Joyce, a sister of State Senator P. F. Joyce of 558 North Main street, where the deceased made her home. Miss Joyce had been confined to her bed, suffering from neuritis for two months past, and nothing seemed to bring her relief.
Miss Joyce was born in this city, a member of one of the most prominent families of Pittston, and was held in high esteem. She was a member of St. Mary's R. C. Church and the Women's societies of the church.
The surviving members of the family are Senator Patrick F. Joyce and City Treasurer Joseph P. Joyce, and two sisters, the Misses Margaret and Elizabeth Joyce, who live at the family home. The funeral will take place on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, with services in St. Mary's Church at 9:30 and interment in St Mary's cemetery.
