Mr. Rushton was employed for over 40 years as a lineman for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. He was later employed as a school crossing guard for Wilkes-Barre Area School District. He was a member of Holy Saviour Church, Wilkes-Barre. He also belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Donegal Society.
His wife, the former Elizabeth Brennan; sister, Doris Thompson; brothers, James, Harold, William, Richard, and Leo, preceded him in death.
Surviving are sons, Patrick G., Wilkes-Barre; James P., Bangor, Maine; John P., at home; daughters, Mary T. Millham, Bloomsburg; Betty J. Rushton, at home; four grandchildren; sister, Ruth Bordash, Edwardsville; brother, Michael B., Wilkes-Barre.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10 from the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 in Holy Saviour Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday, 2 to 5. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Saviour Church Memorial fund, 54 Hillard St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
