Ann Pesavento

Ann Pesavento, 88, formerly of Dallas, died Thursday at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born on August 10, 1907 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Gill Gannon.

She received a Normal School Degree from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and a bachelor of arts degree from Glassboro State College, New Jersey.

She was a resident of Berlin, NJ, for more than 20 years, and taught at the Pine Hill schools before retiring. She returned to the area and lived in Dallas. She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas; Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; and Dallas senior Women’s Club. She was past president of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, Kingston Township; Grand Regent of A Court of Our Lady of Fatima; Catholic Daughters of America; and Back Mountain Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert.

Surviving are her son, Jack L., Miami Springs, Fla.; a daughter, Jeanne DeSocio, Liverpool, NY; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Cavan, Wilkes-Barre; a brother, Leo Gannon, Parsons, Wilkes-Barre.

The funeral will be held at 8:45 a.m. Saturday from the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Church.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s research Hospital, 539 Lane Ave., Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
