John L. Holthaus, 77, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in the care of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart at St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.
He was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre to John L. and Mary Gannon Holthaus. He was a 1954 graduate of Coughlin High School and attended King's College.
Jack resided in New Jersey from 1963 until 2004, when he relocated back to his hometown after the passing of his wife, Joan. He owned International Color Printing in Hillsborough, New Jersey.
Jack was an avid golfer and loved to travel with his wife, friends and family. He enjoyed the special times he spent with his grandchildren. His favorite places to dine were Ona Rosa in New Jersey and Patte's in Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Williams Holthaus, and his parents, John L. and Mary Holthaus.
Surviving are his sons, John Holthaus, Brick, New Jersey, and James Holthaus, High Bridge, New Jersey; brothers, Michael Holthaus, Mountain Top; Richard Holthaus and his wife, Ruth, Dallas. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren, Maggie, Jeffrey, Austin and Olivia; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family thanks Dr. Richard Huntington and Dr. Carol Westbook, his oncologist, for their outstanding care.
Relatives and friends may call 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
