Born in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Jennie Ruddy Ward. She was a 1931 graduate of Coughlin High School, and was employed as a Unit Secretary at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Miners Mills, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; brothers; Edward, Francis, James, Thomas and Gerard; sisters, Florence, Genevieve, Elizabeth and Margaret.
Surviving is a son, Peter, Bronxville, N.Y.; daughter, Florence, at home; one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
