Celestine "Tuttie" Waskiewicz, 72, of Plains Township, died Wednesday afternoon at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in Plains, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Duffy Gill.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a supporter of Plains Township youth sports.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; brother, Thomas. Surviving are her son, Jacob; daughter, Mary Ann, at home; brothers, Joseph, Plains; Peter, New Jersey; sister, Mrs. Neil McCall, Kingston.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Plains. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial donations may be made to the Plains Volunteer Ambulance Association.
