Born in Pittston, he was a son of the late William Jr. and Naomi (Roche) Gilroy. He graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School and attended King’s College. He was a project superintendent for Donald M. Durkin Contracting, Southampton, and for various construction companies during his 40-year career. He was past president and member of the American Society of Highway Engineers, East Penn Section.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, the former Diane Kotzur; daughters, Kate, Baltimore, Md., Tara, Haverstraw, N.Y., and Shawna, Treichlers; son, Liam, Treicherlers; sister, Mary Ann Cerza, Yatesville; and brother, James, Freemansburg.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday from the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton. Interment will be Schenck’s Cemetery, Howard.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Red Cross, both of Lehigh Valley.
