She was born October 30, 1925 in Inkerman, daughter of the late Frank and Clementine Adomavicius Briedis. Mrs. Gilroy had lived in South Bend, Ind. since 1949. On June 17, 1946, she married Robert V. Gilroy in Inkerman. He died on November 5, 2001.
In addition, she was also preceded in death by sister, Frances Bradus; brothers, Vince Brady and Frank B. Briedis.
She was a former secretary at the Studebaker headquarters in South Bend, Ind. She also worked at the former St. Joseph Title Company, South Bend, Ind., as a receptionist for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral, St. Jude Catholic Church choir and the Studebaker Glee Club. She was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College and attended College Misericordia for music, Dallas.
Surviving are daughter, Kathleen (Tim) Murray, Granger, Ind.; son, Robert V. (Jennifer) Gilroy Jr., Chillicothe, Ohio; three grandchildren; sisters, Julianne Belunas and Ann Unwin, both of South Bend, Ind.; sister-in-law, Loretta Briedis, South Bend, Ind.
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami, South Bend, Ind. The Rev. Michael Heintz officiated. Interment followed at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Arrangements were by the Palmer Funeral Home, Guisinger Chapel, 2718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, Ind.
