John J. Newcomb of Cherry Hill, N.J., passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Regina Newcomb, Forty Fort; beloved husband of the late Barbara Newcomb; loving father of John R. Newcomb (Cerinda), Woburn, Mass.; and Elizabeth Ann Rebbecchi, Cherry Hill, N.J.; dear brother of Mary Lou Kren (Frank), Manassas, Va.; Ellenita Kern (late Ray), Dallas; Joseph T. Newcomb (Helene), Pitman, N.J.; and Carol Ann Niewinski (Ed), Forty Fort; and devoted grandfather of Rane and Keegan Newcomb and Thomas, Katherine and Vincent Rebbecchi.
John was a graduate of Forty Fort High School, where he played varsity basketball, and subsequently graduated from King's College in 1958.
John also had a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant junior grade.
He was associated with IBM in New York and continued his profession in Philadelphia.
One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family on Lake Sacandaga, N.Y.
John was a fun-loving man of strong character and faith and never stopped being a gentleman.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Christ Our Light Roman Catholic Church, Cherry Hill, N.J.
