He was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School in Pittston and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical center in Wilkes-Barre.
He and his wife, the former Grace McLane, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on May 23. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas, Paul and Robert. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Ann Mullen, at home; sisters, Ruth Grace, Miriam Callahan, Sister Elizabeth Grace, I.H.M.; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Donnelly-Callahan Funeral Home, 802 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church in Hughestown.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carverton, Kingston Township. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.
