Thomas A. Gilroy

Thomas A. Gilroy, 68, of 31 Powell St., Plains, died Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Veterans Administration Hospital.

Born in Jenkins Township, he resided the last 13 years in Plains. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a retired miner, last employed by Moffatt Coal Company.

Mr. Gilroy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. His wife, the former Frances Dougherty Moncavage, died in 1973.

Surviving are daughters, Patricia and Frances Gilroy, at home; Mrs. Robert Dreabit, Forty Fort; stepsons John and Michael Moncavage, Bloomfield, N.J.; stepdaughters, Mrs. William Murphy and Mrs. William Kelly, Plains; 5 grandchildren; brother, Charles, West Pittston.

Funeral will be Saturday at a time to be announced from Kizis Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 7 to 9 and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
