Charles Gilroy (1947-2005)

Charles (Butch) Gilroy, 58, formerly of Exeter,
passed away in the VA Medical Center,

He was born in Pittston, son of the late Charles and Catherine Gilroy. He attended Immaculate Conception, West Pittston, and West Pittston High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served two tours in Vietnam. He resided in Exeter for many years before relocating to Plano, Texas.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maryann and Marita.

Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Bonnie; children, Kellyann, Charles, Michaela, Michael, Matthew and Catherine; sons-in-law, Jason Fallick and Robin Barnett; daughters-in-law, Tanya and Jillian; 11 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his brothers, Robert, New Jersey; Thomas, Florida; sisters, Lois, Connecticut; Ellen, Pennsylvania.

A vigil will be held Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m., from Ted Dickey Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 9:30 in Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, Allen, Texas, with a full military burial to follow at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
