Dr. Thomas M. Loftus, 73, of Fox Chase, Philadelphia, formerly of Plains Township, died Wednesday night at Jeannes Hospital, Fox Chase, Philadelphia. Born in Plains Township, he was the son of the late Anthony and Kathryn McManus Loftus. He was a 1936 graduate of Plains Memorial High School, a 1940 graduate of Scranton University and a 1944 graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Cecelia's Church, Fox Chase. He was a medical practitioner in Fox Chase, retiring in 1990.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Brannigan; sons, Thomas and John, both of Voorhees Township, N.J.; daughters, Mrs. John (Kathy) Martinoli, Downington; Mrs. William (Nancy) Nelson, Richboro; eight grandchildren; brother, Dr. Joseph, Hudson, Plains Township.
A funeral Mass will be at the convenience of the family in St. Cecilia's Church, Fox Chase. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains Township.
Arrangements are by Corcoran Funeral Home, Plains Township.
